Doing Something Just for Me (and Why It Feels Both Selfish and Free)

I did something rare: I took a few days off just for me.
I went diving — whales and seals included 🐋 — wandered the streets, did a little shopping, and treated myself to good, fresh food. I took myself for long walks and drove from the moment I landed until I left. 🚗
It sounds small, but it’s been a long time since I’ve done something only for myself. And here’s the truth: part of me still feels selfish. Yet the other part? Completely alive.
I came back with a new lens. My heart feels wide open — filled with love, curiosity, and possibility.
And here’s what really struck me: ten years ago, I couldn’t even drive. Five years ago, I was still someone else. Today, the freedom of holding the wheel, of choosing my own routes, feels symbolic.
We change. Slowly. And then suddenly. 🌱
Sometimes self-care is the bravest step in growth.
